IN THE MATRIX
“Another Winter Past” 18 x 31, oil
In the midst of my latest painting, I had a feeling like I had just cracked the matrix.
Maybe it’s from painting outdoors so much over the last year and observing light and color directly from life. Maybe it’s from the lessons in Jeremy Lipking’s workshop finally clicking into place. Either way, this painting was effortless. Time fell away. Color mixing was a breeze. Capturing the likeness happened instantly. I’m in the zone and it feels amazing.
